The Privileges section appears only when a member has the Technician role. These toggles fine-tune what the technician can do in the PSS mobile app—turn one on (green) to grant it. The seven privileges are:
- Enable as Master Tech — lets the technician see and work every service route and job in the company, not just their own, and manage the day’s stop order for the whole team. The web toggle grants the ability; the technician then turns on the Master Tech Mode switch in the mobile app’s Settings when they want to use it, and can turn it off again to focus on their own assignments. Useful for lead technicians who cover absences or oversee the field.
- Allow Jobs Management — lets the technician add and manage jobs from the field (the add button and job actions appear on their route and job screens), not just complete the ones assigned to them. It also shows them job attachments that are otherwise hidden from technicians.
- Allow Client Phone Access — shows the client’s phone number to the technician in the mobile app, with a Call Client action at the stop. Leave it off to keep client phone numbers hidden and route calls through the office. Admins and Managers always see client phone numbers.
- Allow Catalog Pricing Access — lets the technician see catalog item prices when adding extra items or shopping list items. Leave it off to hide pricing from the field; item names stay visible.
- Only Allow Camera Upload(s) — restricts photos to ones taken with the device camera, so the technician cannot upload an existing image from their photo gallery. Use this to ensure photos are captured on site.
- Tech Only Sees Direct Job Assignments — limits the technician to jobs assigned directly to them, hiding the rest of the company’s jobs at a property.
- Allow Same Day Stops Reordering (Self) — lets the technician change the order of their own route stops for the current day only; past and future dates stay locked.
Note: Enable as Master Tech and Allow Same Day Stops Reordering (Self) cannot both be on at once—turning on one automatically turns off the other. A master tech already manages the team’s stop order, so the self-only reordering option does not apply to them.
Note: Tech Only Sees Direct Job Assignments and Allow Same Day Stops Reordering (Self) only apply to members whose only role is Technician. An Admin or Manager who also holds the Technician role already sees all jobs and can already reorder stops, so these two switches have no effect on them.
