A technician’s work capacity records how many hours they are available to work on each day of the week, so the office can plan routes and assignments around real availability. Capacity comes in three parts.
General Work Capacity
This is the technician’s normal weekly availability—the hours they can work on each day, Sunday through Saturday. Each day is entered as hours and minutes (for example, 8:00), and a running Total shows the week in decimal hours (for example, Total: 40.00 hours).
- Enter the number of hours available on a given day.
- Enter zero (
0:00) when the technician is never available on that day. - Leave a day blank (Not Set) when the technician is not normally scheduled then but could work if needed.
Upcoming Capacities
Upcoming capacities are temporary overrides for a set date range—handy for vacations or busy stretches. For example, to block a week of vacation, create an upcoming capacity for those dates with zero hours on each day.
- Click Add New in the Upcoming Capacities section.
- Set the Date Range with the From and To dates.
- Enter the hours for each day in that range.
- Click Done to keep the override, or Cancel to discard it.
- Click Save at the top of the profile to commit your changes.
Each saved upcoming capacity is listed with its date range and daily hours, and has its own Edit and Delete buttons; like new entries, those changes are only applied when you click Save on the profile.
Note: Upcoming capacities cannot overlap. PSS rejects a new one that starts on or before the end date of an existing upcoming capacity (The upcoming capacity cannot overlap with the already set upcoming capacity).
Past Work Capacities
Once an upcoming capacity’s date range has passed, it moves to Past Work Capacities, where it stays for your records. The profile view lists them read-only; in the edit view you can remove them with Delete on a single entry or Delete All to clear them at once. Both ask you to confirm and take effect immediately—they do not wait for Save, and they cannot be undone.
