The Tech Settings section holds the basics PSS uses to schedule a technician and show them on the route map and calendar:
- Work Start Time — the time the technician’s workday begins (hours, minutes, AM/PM), used when laying out and timing their daily route. New technicians start at 08:00 AM.
- Color — the color that represents this technician on routes and schedules, so you can tell whose stops are whose at a glance. Pick one of the twelve swatches: Dark Brown, Medium Green, Light Brown, Purple, Medium Blue, Dark Green, Light Green, Lavender, Soft Purple, Salmon Pink, Medium Orange, or Bright Red.
- Work Starting Address — where the technician starts their day (their home or your yard), used for route planning and drive-time estimates. Start typing the address to pick it from the suggestions; the City, State, and Zip fill in automatically and can be adjusted. New technicians start with your company address.
Note: Work Start Time and Work Starting Address are marked with an asterisk (*) in the profile because route optimization relies on them. A missing or wrong starting address produces a poorer stop sequence.
