The Shopping List is where you keep track of the parts and supplies your company needs to buy — a replacement check valve for one client’s pool, a new pump for another, or a case of test strips for your own trucks. Every item on the list has a status, a client (or your company) it belongs to, and a technician responsible for it, so nothing that was promised on a service call gets forgotten in the truck.
Because each item carries a description, quantity, and price, PSS can turn a finished item straight into an invoice line — automatically when you mark it Done, or on demand with Invoice Now…. Two metrics at the top of the page show how quickly items move from being logged to being paid.
To open it, click Shopping List in the left-hand menu, under Purchasing.
The page has two tabs at the top:
- Overview — the item list, the metrics, and everything you do day to day (see 14.2).
- Configure — the automatic-invoicing rules, the metric time windows, and default values for new items (see 14.6).
Note: The Shopping List page is available to the Admin, Manager, Company Admin, and Company Manager roles. Technicians work their shopping items from the mobile app instead (see 14.7). The menu entry is hidden while your subscription is expired.
Shopping items also show up in three other places in PSS: on a job’s Shopping Items section (Section 3), in the Open Shopping Items panel of a client’s profile (Section 1), and in the notification inbox, which has its own Shopping Items event group (Section 9).
