Invoicing is where you bill your clients and get paid. From the Invoices area you can create a one-off invoice, set up invoices that bill automatically on a schedule, send invoices and payment reminders by email and text, accept online card or bank payments, and add late fees and processing fees—all from one place.
The system is built so that the figures take care of themselves. You add line items, and PSS calculates the subtotal, tax, discounts, and the amount due. You set your billing defaults once, and every new invoice starts pre-filled with them. You connect a payment processor once, and your clients can pay online from the invoice you send them.
This section covers everything to do with invoicing:
- The settings that control how every invoice looks and behaves.
- Recurring templates that generate invoices automatically.
- Creating invoices, and the statuses an invoice moves through.
- Sending invoices and automatic reminders.
- Recording payments, including partial payments and card/bank charges.
- Connecting Stripe to accept online card and ACH payments.
- How late fees and processing fees work.
- Deleting and writing off invoices, and the difference between them.
- Why certain fields are required before an invoice or setting can be saved.
To open it, click Invoices in the left-hand menu, under People & Billing.
Note: The Invoices area is available to the Admin, Manager, Company Admin, and Company Manager roles.
