- ERROR: File was not a CSV file format — the file must be saved as CSV (
.csv). Export from Excel or Sheets with File → Save as / Download → CSV; do not upload the.xlsxor.numbersfile. - Could not find or create client / invoice template / recurring charge on row N — the
ID*cell is neitherNEWnor a valid ID from the export. Check for stray spaces or an ID copied from another export type. - Display or first name is missing on row N — both FirstName and DisplayName are required for clients.
- Client ‘X’ could not be found in your account / was NOT FOUND — the display name does not match an existing client exactly. Import or create the client first, and check spelling and extra spaces.
- Manager ‘X’ could not be found / was not assigned a manager role — the Manager column must name a team member who holds the Manager role.
- Please be sure a tech exists with that display name — the technician name must match a team member with the Technician role. If the name exists but the person has been removed from the team, the message says so.
- Invalid day X given — Routes need the full English day name (
Monday, notMon). - Import aborted: a ‘Pool Gallons’ column was not found — your Properties file is an old layout. Re-download the sample.
- The start date is invalid on row N — new invoice templates, recurring jobs and recurring charges must start tomorrow or later.
- Import limit reached / Trial accounts are limited to 50 / An active subscription is required to import — see the limits in 18.3.
- Cannot import more than N … in one go — split the file; the message names the last record saved so you know where to continue.
- Error on row N when processing import file … Please contact support — an unexpected error; the rows before N were saved. Send the file and the message to support.
Because rows are saved as they go, always read the Saved N records successfully part of the message before you re-import, and remove or convert those rows to updates so you do not create duplicates.
