API Keys is where you create the keys that let another system read from and write to your PSS account through the Public API. The full API reference — endpoints, limits, pricing — is Section 20. The entry appears in the Settings menu only while the API add-on is on sale.
If you have not bought the add-on, the panel shows an API Keys is not in your plan card with an Upgrade to unlock API Keys link to Subscription & Billing; closing the card leaves a Purchase module banner. With the add-on active, the header shows your usage this month (X of Y API calls/month), and an overage banner appears if you go past the included calls.
To create a key:
- Click Generate New Key.
- Enter a Key Name (for example Reporting Dashboard) and confirm.
- In the API Key Generated dialog, use Copy key and store the key somewhere safe, then click I’ve copied it.
Note: This is the only time the full key is shown. Afterwards the table shows only its prefix followed by dots. If you lose a key, revoke it and generate a new one.
The table lists each key’s Name, masked Key, Created at, Status (Active, Disabled or Suspended) and Last Used. The row menu offers Disable Key / Enable Key to pause and resume a key without losing it, and Revoke to retire it permanently. A company can hold up to 3 keys at a time; asking for a fourth shows You can only have up to 3 API keys. Revoke an existing key to generate a new one.
