When a prospect agrees to service, let PSS create the client for you instead of retyping their details:
- Hover over the lead’s row and open the three-dot menu.
- Click Create Client.
- Confirm Create a new client from this lead?.
PSS then:
- Creates an Active client using the lead’s first name, last name, company name, phone and email. If the lead has no first name, the company name is used as the client’s name. The client’s Client Type is the lead’s Client Type, or the first type in the list if none was chosen.
- If the lead has an Address, also creates one property at that address, assigned to the account owner as its manager, with today as its start date. You see Client created successfully with property; without an address you see Client created successfully and no property is made.
- Sets the lead’s Lead Status to Closed - Converted and fills the Client column with the new client’s name. Create Client disappears from the menu for that lead.
Open the Clients page (section 1) to finish setting the client up: add a property if none was created, check the address, and assign a service route or job.
Note: Conversion copies contact details only — it does not create a route, a job, an invoice or a Client Portal invitation. If the client created from a lead is later deleted, Create Client reappears on the lead so you can convert it again. Changing a lead’s status to Closed - Converted by hand does not create a client; only Create Client does.
