This guide walks a brand-new account through the five things that make PSS useful from the first week: your clients, your team, your service routes, your first completed visit, and your first invoice. Read it front to back — most owners are up and running in about 20 minutes.
Each part is labeled with where the work happens (the Web App in your browser, or the Mobile App on your phone) and who does it (Admin or Technician).
Note: On the Free plan? After your 14-day free trial, the Free plan covers up to 10 clients and 10 properties. Going over that limit hides Routes, Invoices and other menus until you are back under it or upgrade to a paid plan.
Note: Running solo? As the person who created the account, you are already an Admin, Manager and Technician. You can build routes for yourself and record visits right away — skim Part 2 and come back to it when you hire.
Web App and Mobile App · Admin
Two quick things make everything after this look like your business: your company details, and the mobile app.
Your company details (Web App)
Your company name, logo and email appear on every visit report and invoice your clients receive.
- In the left-hand menu, click Settings. The Preferences panel opens first.
- Click Edit Preferences.
- Check your Company Name, Company Address, Company Email (the reply-to address for visit emails) and Company Phone.
- Upload your Company Logo.
- Check your Time Zone, Currency and Measurement System (Imperial or Metric).
- Click Save Preferences.
Note: Your Company Address is also used as the starting point for any technician who has no starting address of their own.
Get the mobile app
- On your phone, download Pool Service Software from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in with the same email and password you use on the web app.
How invited technicians get started
- They open the invitation email from PSS and accept the invitation, setting their own password.
- They download Pool Service Software from the App Store or Google Play.
- They sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to and the password they just set.
Note: You can put an invited technician on a route before they accept. They just can’t run that route until they accept the invitation and sign in on the app.
