Each plan includes a property limit—Free covers up to 10, Dive In up to 50, Ripple Effect up to 100, and Wave Maker the property count you selected (see 5.4). If the number of unique properties you service in a billing period goes over your plan’s limit, PSS does not block you or interrupt service. Instead, you are billed a small additional fee for each property above the limit, and the notice bar at the top of the screen reads Subscription limit exceeded.
- The overage rate is $3.00 per extra property—that is, per unique property over your plan limit, counted once per billing period (see 5.3 for how properties are counted).
- Every overage charge carries the description “Additional fee per property exceeding the plan limit.”
How overages are billed depends on your billing cycle:
| Plan type | When overages are billed | How you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Added to your next renewal invoice | Charged automatically to the card on file with the renewal |
| Annual | Once a month, on the same day of the month your annual plan started | Charged automatically to the card on file |
Annual customers still pay their base plan once a year, but because property usage varies month to month, any overage is calculated monthly for the month that just ended and charged to your card on file as its own invoice.
Example. You are on Dive In (50 properties) and you service 56 unique properties in a month. That is 6 properties over your limit, so your overage is 6 × $3.00 = $18.00. On a monthly plan it is added to your next renewal invoice; on an annual plan it is charged as a separate invoice on your plan’s monthly billing day.
Note: On Wave Maker, the limit is the property count you chose, so if you are regularly over it, use Make Changes on the card to pick a larger size rather than paying overage each month. The Free plan has no overage at all—its 10-property limit is a hard cap (see 5.4).
If an overage charge fails
Overage charges are collected the same way as your plan: automatically, from the card on file. If a charge is declined, keep the card on your account up to date (see 5.11) so the payment can go through. If an overage invoice stays unpaid, access to the account is restricted until it is settled, and the notice bar explains what to do.
Note: Every overage invoice is listed in Billing History as Property overage (start date - end date), marked Unpaid until it is paid, and can be downloaded like any other billing record (see 5.12).
