Templates save you from rewriting the same notice every season. All template actions live in the green three-dot (⋯) button to the right of the Message heading:
- Save As… — save the current Reply To, Subject and body as a new template. You are asked for a Template Name.
- Save Template — shown only while a template is loaded. Overwrites that template with your current edits.
- Load Template — opens Choose Template: click a template, then Load Template. Its Reply To, Subject and body replace whatever is in the form.
- Manage Templates — rename or delete templates (see below).
While a template is loaded, the Message heading shows (Template: name), and CHANGES MADE appears in red as soon as you edit any of its fields, so you know the form no longer matches the saved copy.
Built-in and custom templates
PSS gives every company two Built-in templates the first time Announcements is opened:
- Holiday — Happy Holidays from %company_name%: a seasonal greeting confirming that service continues as usual.
- No Service — No Pool Service from %company_name%: a short apology that the pool cannot be serviced this week.
Both use message tags, so they personalize automatically. Templates you save yourself are listed under Custom Templates.
In Manage Templates:
- Click the pencil icon next to a template to rename it; click away from the box to finish.
- Click the trash icon next to a custom template to mark it for deletion (the name is struck through; click the icon again to undo).
- Click OK to apply your renames and deletions, or Cancel to discard them.
Note: Built-in templates can be renamed but not deleted — they have no trash icon. If the template you currently have loaded is deleted, the form keeps its text but is no longer linked to a template.
