To address each recipient by name, insert message tags — placeholders that PSS replaces with each recipient’s own data as the email is generated. Click View Message Tags under the editor to open the Message Tags window, then click the copy icon next to a tag and paste it into the subject or body.
| Tag | Replaced with |
|---|---|
%client_first_name% |
The recipient’s first name |
%client_last_name% |
The recipient’s last name |
%client_display_name% |
The recipient’s display name |
%company_name% |
Your company name |
For example: Hi %client_first_name%, %company_name% will be closed on Monday 25 December…
Note: When the recipient is a team member rather than a client, only
%client_display_name%is filled (with the team member’s display name); the first- and last-name tags come out blank, so avoid them in messages aimed at your team. In a test email (15.8) the name tags are filled with sample data — “John Stewart” — so you can see the layout, and%company_name%is filled with your real company name.
