This section lists exactly what each event type can watch. Starter rules are the ones PSS creates for a company that has never saved rules.
Readings
- Target: properties (all, by type, by tag).
- Measurement: any of your company’s reading items (pH, chlorine, alkalinity and so on, as set up in Settings), plus LSI (Saturation Index), FAC Factor (ppm), FAC Factor with Borates (ppm) and Any Reading.
- Conditions: Equal To, Not Equal To, Less Than, Less Than or Equal To, Greater Than, Greater Than or Equal To, Is Present, Is Not Present, Is Not Present AFTER N days, Percent Change UP N%, Percent Change DOWN N%. Any Reading offers only Percent Change UP/DOWN and Is Not Present; LSI and the FAC factors do not offer Is Not Present AFTER; a Weather Condition reading offers Equal To / Not Equal To against NICE, WINDY, RAINY or LIGHTNING.
- How it is judged: on saved (not skipped) service route visits. Percent-change rules compare against the previous visit at the same property. Is Not Present AFTER flags a visit where the reading is blank and the last visit that did record it is at least N days earlier.
- Starter rules: none.
Dosages
- Rule type (radio buttons): Dosage Cost, Visit Cost or Dosage quantity.
- Target: properties.
- Measurement: All Dosages or one of your company’s dosage items (with its unit). Visit Cost always uses all dosages.
- Conditions: the same value, presence and percent-change operators as Readings. Cost rules show your currency sign before the value.
- How it is judged: on saved service route visits, using the chemical costs from your dosage settings.
- Starter rules: none.
Short Visits and Long Visits
- Rule type: Route Visit or Job Visit.
- Target: properties.
- Measurement: Route Duration (start to finish) is / Job Duration (start to finish) is.
- Conditions: Short Visits offers Less Than and Less Than or Equal To, each as plain minutes or as (%age of estimate); Long Visits offers Greater Than and Greater Than or Equal To the same way.
- The estimate: for a job visit it is the job’s scheduled duration; for a route visit it is the average duration of the property’s past visits. A percentage rule cannot fire on a property with no history.
- Starter rules: Route Visit Less Than 5 minutes (Short) and Route Visit Greater Than 45 minutes (Long), for all properties.
Missed Work
- Target: properties.
- Measurement: Missed Job Occurs, Skipped Route Visit Occurs or Purchased Shopping Item Is Not Installed. There is no condition or value.
- How it is judged: a job whose status is Missed with an undone instance; a route visit the technician skipped (the skip reason — Dog/Animal in Backyard, Locked Gate/Obstruction, Rescheduled Service Day, Bad Weather, Biweekly or Other — is shown in the list); or a shopping item in Purchased status whose job was missed, or whose property’s service day has come and gone since it was bought.
- Starter rules: all three, for all properties.
Too Far Away
- Target: properties.
- Measurement: Check-IN location (from property) or Check-OUT location (from property).
- Conditions: Greater Than or Greater Than or Equal To, in feet.
- How it is judged: the straight-line distance between the property’s location and the GPS point the mobile app recorded at check-in or check-out, for route visits and job visits that have coordinates. Visits entered by hand in Visit History have no GPS point and are never flagged.
- Starter rules: check-in Greater Than 600 feet and check-out Greater Than 600 feet, for all properties.
Equipments
- Target: properties.
- Measurement: Equipment Warranty Expiration or Equipment Status.
- Conditions: for warranty — Within N days (expires between today and N days from now), Greater Than N days ago or Greater Than or Equal To N days ago (already expired); for status — Equal To ACTIVE, DOWN or DISPOSED.

- Starter rule: Greater Than 0 days, All Clients — in other words, every late invoice.
Low Inventory

- Measurement: the item’s stock count.
- Conditions: Less Than or Less Than or Equal To N items.
- How it is judged: only catalog items with Track Inventory switched on are checked (see Section 12).
