Rules define what each card counts. They are saved per company and apply to every user. To open the rule editor, scroll to the bottom of the centre panel and click Configure Rules.
Reading the rule editor
- Select to configure: lists the ten event types down the left. Click one to see its rules on the right; the selected type is highlighted in blue.
- The right side starts with an Add Rule button and a reminder that any and all matched rules appear in the Control Center — most visit-based types add on a PER VISIT basis, meaning one row per visit that matched.
- Each existing rule is one row of dropdowns and boxes ending in a red trash icon. The small green + below a row inserts a new rule directly after it.
- Save All at the bottom right saves the rules of every event type at once, refreshes the counts, and closes the window with a Successfully saved. confirmation.
Anatomy of a rule
Every rule is read left to right as a sentence: for these targets, when this measurement meets this condition and value. The pieces are:
- Target — who or what the rule watches. It is a multi-select tag box that defaults to all:
- All Properties, one or more property types, or Tag: … entries for property tags (most event types).
- All Clients or client types (Late Invoices).
- All Catalog Items, individual catalog items, or Tag: … for catalog tags (Low Inventory).
- Measurement — what is being tested. Some event types offer a dropdown (which reading, which dosage, check-in or check-out, warranty or status); others show fixed text such as Invoice is unpaid past due date or Route Duration (start to finish) is.
- Condition — the comparison, chosen from the operators that make sense for that measurement: Greater Than, Greater Than or Equal To, Less Than, Less Than or Equal To, Equal To, Not Equal To, Is Present, Is Not Present, Is Not Present AFTER, Percent Change UP, Percent Change DOWN, Within, and the (%age of estimate) variants for visit durations.
- Value — the number to compare against (or a status such as DOWN).
- Unit — shown after the value where it applies: minutes, %, feet, days, days ago or items.
A rule that is missing its target or its condition is skipped silently, so always fill every box in a row. Because any matching rule counts, you can stack several rules on one card — for example a Long Visits rule for Route Visit and another for Job Visit.
Adding a rule
- Click Configure Rules and select the event type on the left.
- Click Add Rule (or the green + under an existing rule to insert one at that position).
- Fill in the target, measurement, condition, value and — where shown — the rule type radio buttons above the row.
- Repeat for any other event types you want to change.
- Click Save All.
Editing or deleting a rule
- To change a rule, edit its boxes in place, then click Save All.
- To remove a rule, click the red trash icon at the end of its row, then click Save All.
- To stop a card from reporting anything without hiding it, delete all of its rules; an event type with no rules always shows 0.
Note: There is no on/off switch on an individual rule. A rule exists and is active, or it has been deleted. Closing the window with the × discards unsaved changes.
