You can add a card when none is on file, or replace the card used for your subscription.
- Open Subscription & Billing → Subscription Plan.
- In the payment summary card (top-right), click Add Card (or Change Card if a card is already saved).
- In the Add Payment Method (or Update Payment Method) window, enter:
- Name on Card
- Card Number
- Expiration Date (MM / YY)
- CVC
- Click Add Card (or Update Card).
When you save a card, PSS makes it the default payment method for your subscription. If you have an unpaid (open) subscription invoice at the time, PSS attempts to pay it right away with the new card. A confirmation message—“Successfully updated payment information”—appears on success. To check which card is on file, click See Details next to Payment Method; the Card Details window shows the name, masked number and expiration date.
Note: PSS accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Card details are handled securely by our payment processor; PSS does not store full card numbers.
If a renewal payment fails
When a renewal charge is declined, PSS does not lock your account. The notice bar reads Your subscription payment failed. Please update your card to keep your account active, and the payment processor retries the charge for about two weeks. Either replace the card as above, or click Update payment method in the notice to open the outstanding invoice and pay it directly. Once a retry succeeds the notice disappears. If the retries are exhausted without payment, the paid subscription ends and the account is treated like a Free account, subject to the Free-plan limits (see 5.4).
