When you add a property to a technician’s day using any of the paths in section 2.3, PSS creates a service route for that property on that weekday. How often it actually comes up is governed by the property’s Service Frequency (Every Week, Every 2 Weeks, Every 3 Weeks, Every 4 Weeks) and its Service Start date.
A few things worth knowing about how the recurrence works:
- You do not need to schedule “every week” separately — the recurrence pattern lives on the property.
- Adding a property to a tech’s day attaches it as a recurring stop in one action.
- On a property’s off week (for example the second week of an Every 2 Weeks schedule) the stop still appears on the tech’s day, labelled ** No Service This Week **, and does not count toward the day’s total.
- The service route persists until you delete or pause it (section 2.7), or the property’s Service End date passes.
Quick Routes — bulk attach by drawing on the map
When you need to attach many properties to one technician in a single action (for example, every property in a neighborhood), use Quick Routes.
- On the Routes page, click the three-dot menu next to a technician’s name.
- Select the Quick Routes entry (shown as the Quick Routes logo). The page switches into drawing mode: the Quick Routes toolbar replaces the day filters, and a drawing toolbar appears on the left edge of the map.
- Pick a drawing tool: Draw polygon (pencil), Draw rectangle, Draw circle, or Edit / move shapes (arrow) to adjust a shape you already drew.
- Draw the area on the map — for a polygon, click each corner and click the starting point again to close it. Every property marker inside the shape is selected. Clear Drawing starts over.
- Confirm the Properties Selected count in the toolbar.
- Pick the destination technician from Assign To and the weekday from Service Day.
- Click Save Route.
- If the technician already has stops on that day, PSS asks whether to Add to Existing stops or Overwrite them. If some selected properties are already on another tech’s route for that day, they are listed under Routes already assigned on [day] with a toggle each, so you can leave individual properties where they are.
- Confirm with Yes in the Confirm Assignment dialog.
Two details to be aware of:
- Only properties that can actually be routed are shown while drawing: paused properties, Only Jobs properties and properties without map coordinates are hidden.
- Unless you chose Add to Existing, PSS runs route optimization on the resulting day as part of the save, using your Avoid Tolls setting — the toolbar reminds you of this (Optimize route avoiding/with tolls — see settings cog wheel).
Quick Routes is the fastest way to lay down a territory map or move an entire neighborhood from one tech to another. Click Cancel to leave drawing mode without saving.
