PSS tracks the chemical cost of every service visit so you always know what each property costs to maintain.
To configure dosage costs:
- Go to Settings > Visit Tasks & Costs.
- Open the Dosages tab.
- For each chemical, fill in the Cost Data columns: the Cost and the unit that cost applies to — for liquids gallon, quart, cup or fl oz; for dry chemicals pound or ounce (liter / milliliter and kilogram / gram for metric companies); or a Count for items dosed by the piece, such as tablets. Enter the cost in the unit you buy in (for example, the price per pound of Dichlor even if your techs dose in ounces) — PSS converts to the unit the tech records. Optionally link the dosage to a catalog item so it can be invoiced.
- Click Save.
Note: Cost, unit and catalog item belong to the chemical itself and apply in every Dosages view; only shown / required are per view.
Once costs are configured, dosage spend rolls up in three places:
- Dashboard > Dosage Costs & Invoicing widget — lists properties with their Monthly Revenue and Dosage Cost (and dosage cost as a percentage of revenue) for the selected month, so you can spot accounts where chemicals are eating margin. The widget’s gear icon sets a Dosage Cost Alert Threshold — the percentage of revenue above which a property’s dosage cost is highlighted. From here you can also Create Dosage Invoice to bill the chemicals used.
- Routes > Manage Routes — a red flask icon on a day card, and the dosage cost shown in red on a stop card, mean a property serviced that day is above the alert threshold.
- Client Profile > Dosages LTM tile — shows the total dosage cost across all of the client’s properties for the trailing twelve months (LTM = Last Twelve Months).
