When a technician leaves, takes a vacation, or you reshuffle territories, you need to move service routes between techs. PSS treats this as a per-day operation so you can move part of a tech’s schedule without touching the rest.
Every move is either Permanent or Temporary:
- Permanent — the route now belongs to the new technician (and day). Use it for re-territorialization, long-term schedule changes, or replacing a departing tech.
- Temporary — the route runs with the new technician between a Start Date and an End Date, then returns to the original tech and day automatically. Use it for vacation cover, training stints, or one-off swaps. While the temp move is active, the stop shows TEMP MOVE (until date) on the covering tech’s day and appears under Paused & Temp Moved on the original tech’s day. You can also end it early with End Temp Move from the stop’s three-dot menu.
Move a whole day (or several) between technicians
- On the Routes page, click the three-dot menu next to the source technician.
- Select Move Routes. The Move Routes modal opens.
- At the top of the modal, set:
- From Technician — defaults to the tech you opened the menu on.
- To Technician — the destination tech.
- Click + Add Service Day. A numbered Service Day Move panel appears.
- In that panel, configure:
- From Service Day — the source tech’s day to move from (e.g., Tuesday).
- To Service Day — the destination tech’s day to move to (e.g., also Tuesday, or a different day entirely). PSS shows Total stops after move (N) so you can see how full the destination day becomes.
- Move Type — Permanent or Temporary.
- If you chose Temporary, also set Start Date and End Date.
- If the destination is a different technician, tick Move all open Shopping List Items to the new tech to transfer any pending purchases for those properties.
- Repeat steps 4–7 to move multiple days in a single save (the trash icon on a panel removes it). Use Expand All / Collapse All to manage long lists.
- Click Save.
The per-day structure means you can, for example, permanently move all of one tech’s Tuesdays to another tech while keeping their Friday routes untouched.
Move a single stop
To reassign just one property, use Edit on its stop card in Manage Routes (see section 2.7). The Edit Route dialog lets you change Assign To, Service Day and Stop Number; as soon as you pick a different tech or day, the same Move Type (Permanent / Temporary), date and shopping-list options appear. The map popup (section 2.3, Path B) also moves a single stop, always permanently.
Note: When a location has several bodies of water (for example a pool and a spa at the same address), PSS lists the Other Bodies of Water and lets you tick the ones that should move along with the one you are editing.
