The Routes page (sidebar > WORK MANAGEMENT > Routes) is the daily command center for recurring service work. It has three regions:
- Top toolbar — Mon–Sun day filter buttons; Unassigned / Assigned filters under All Properties (show only properties that do or do not have a technician on their route); the OPTIMIZE button, which opens the Routes Optimizer (section 2.5); a view-mode dropdown (Line Mode draws straight lines between stops, Nav Mode draws actual driving directions, No Lines hides them); and a settings cog (Configuration, section 2.5).
- Technicians list (left) — a checkbox per tech to show their stops on the map, the tech’s color dot (click it to change the color), a Manage Routes link that opens the week-level editor, a done / assigned stop count for the selected day(s), and a three-dot menu with Optimize Routes, Move Routes, Delete Routes and Quick Routes. The header shows the company-wide done / assigned total.
- Map (right) — every active property the company services, with house-shaped markers. A Search by client name or address… box above the map jumps to a property. Click a marker to open its popup.
There are two ways to add a stop to a technician’s day from this page. (A third is the Service Routes block on the property itself, described in section 2.2.)
Path A — via Manage Routes (recommended for new accounts):
- Click Manage Routes under the technician’s name. A modal opens showing the technician’s full week.
- Click the day card you want to add a stop to (for example, Fri May 1). The card highlights blue.
- Click Add Route on the left. The header reads Adding routes for [day].
- In the Choose client and property… dropdown, search by client name or property address, then select the property. Each result shows the client, the property name, its address, and which tech (if any) it is already assigned to.
- Click Add. The new stop appears at the end of the list with the next stop number and an estimated in/out time.
- Click Close when you are done.
If the property is already on another technician’s route for that day, PSS asks Do you want to move the existing route to [tech]? — click Yes to move it, or No to leave it where it is. If the property was paused on that day, it asks whether to restart it and assign it to the new tech.
Path B — directly from the map:
- Click a property’s house icon. The popup shows the client name, property name and address, with a Mon–Sun button for each day. Under each day you see the icon and name of the tech currently assigned, or a crossed-out user icon if the day is scheduled but unassigned.
- Click the weekday you want to schedule.
- Pick a technician from the Assign Technician dropdown.
- Set the Stop Number if you want the stop placed in a specific position in that day’s order (it defaults to the end of the day).
- If you are moving the property from another tech, tick Move all open Shopping List Items to the new tech if you want their pending purchases to follow.
- Click Save. (Delete Route removes the selected day’s route; Close discards unsaved changes.)
Note: A property whose Service Frequency is Only Jobs cannot be added to a route — the Assign Technician control is disabled in its popup. Change the frequency on the property first.
Reading the Manage Routes modal
The Manage Routes modal is where you will spend most of your routing time, so it is worth knowing what everything means.
- Header — Week N: start – end, Jobs this Week, Scheduled Jobs (jobs not yet done), the day’s done / total properties, and Avg. Route Time / Avg. Job Time in minutes.
- Simple View / Detailed View — Detailed View adds a per-day and per-stop gas cost, distance and hours estimate (computed from the Configuration settings) and loads driving directions for every day, not just today.
- Week navigation — the arrows and calendar icons move by week; GO TO TODAY returns to the current week. Past weeks are read-only.
- Day cards — each shows the date, its done / total count, and small status icons: a briefcase (job scheduled or completed that day), a pause circle (a paused property), a red flask (a property whose dosage cost is above your alert threshold — section 2.8), and a calendar-exclamation (a visit done off schedule).
- Stop cards — the stop number, a check mark once the visit is done (or SKIPPED), a media thumbnail strip or NO MEDIA, a Visit Details link, the client/property/address/phone and frequency, Est. IN / Est. OUT times before the visit and actual IN / OUT afterwards, and any past-due invoice amount in red. Labels such as ** No Service This Week ** (a bi-weekly property on its off week), ** Done Off Schedule **, Done by [tech] and Skipped by [tech] explain anything unusual. A warning triangle with Approx. N feet away flags a check-in recorded far from the property (see Flag Visits More Than (feet) in section 2.5).
- Drag to reorder — drag the handle on the left of a stop card to change the stop order for that day; PSS renumbers the stops and saves immediately.
- Sections below the list — Done Off Schedule (visits performed on a different day than scheduled), Paused & Temp Moved, and Upcoming Recurring Jobs.
