Notifications are how PSS keeps you informed about what’s happening across your business without you having to go looking for it. Whenever something noteworthy happens—a technician finishes a visit, a client approves a quote, a route stop gets missed, a chemical reading breaks one of your Control Center rules—PSS records it and delivers it to the people who need to know.
Think of the Notifications page as your company’s activity feed and to-do prompt rolled into one. Instead of refreshing the Routes board or the Jobs list to find out whether work got done, you let the notifications come to you, then click straight through to the record behind each one.
You can reach your notifications in two places:
- Notifications in the left-hand menu, under General, opens the full Notifications page (covered in this section).
- The bell icon in the top-right corner opens a quick drop-down of your most recent notifications from any screen (see 9.10).
Both show a red count badge when you have unread notifications, so you always know when something new has arrived.
Note: Notifications are personal. What you see depends on your role and on the Allowed Recipients settings your company has configured (see 9.11.2), so two people at the same company may have different notifications in their lists. Notifications are an office and technician feature: Company Admins, Company Managers and Technicians all have a Notifications page. Clients using the Client Portal do not receive PSS notifications.
