You can act on a notification two ways: from the ••• menu on its row in the list, or from the buttons in the reading pane.
The ••• row menu offers:
- Mark as read / Mark as unread — toggles the read state. (The menu shows whichever one applies.)
- Dismiss — removes the notification from your list (see 9.6 for undo).
- Unfollow / Follow this event — stops or resumes notifications for that specific record (see 9.5).
The reading-pane buttons, across the top-right, are:
- Unfollow / Follow — the same follow toggle as above (see 9.5).
- Dismiss — removes the notification from your list. If you dismiss the notification you are reading, PSS selects the next one in the list for you.
- View Details — opens the full underlying record (the job, visit, shopping item, extra item, or invoice the notification is about). This button appears only when there’s a detail screen to open.
- Contact Support — appears only on a System Broadcast from PSS, and opens an email to the PSS support team.
View Details replaces the reading pane with the record itself—the same job, visit history, shopping item, extra item, or invoice view you would see in its own module—with a Back link at the top-left to return to the notification. The one exception is Client Submitted Work Request, whose View Details opens the work request in a pop-up over the list so you can triage it and come straight back (see Section 21).
Note: If a notification belongs to a different company than the one you’re currently in, View Details first asks you to confirm switching to that company before it opens the record.
Note: The Follow / Unfollow buttons are hidden on notifications that have no single record to follow—Low Inventory Detected, Client Submits A Review, and System Broadcast.
