The page is split into two parts:
- A notification list on the left, newest at the top, with the controls for sorting, filtering, and creating new work along the header. The list loads 50 notifications at a time and fetches more as you scroll.
- A reading pane on the right that shows the full detail of whichever notification you select. Until you pick one, it shows your unread count (for example, 3 unread notifications) and a bell graphic.
The controls along the top of the list are:
- The More options menu (the ⋮ icon) holds bulk actions for the whole list (see 9.6).
- The filter icon (the funnel) narrows the list by type, client, property type, and technician (see 9.8).
- The sort icon (the sliders) controls ordering and which notifications appear (see 9.7).
- The plus icon (+) creates new work—a service route, job, or shopping item—directly from the page (see 9.9).
Each notification in the list shows, at a glance:
- A colored, round icon identifying the kind of event (see the icon legend below).
- The title of the event—for example, Job Visit Completed or Route Stop Missed.
- A one-line summary describing what happened and where.
- The time since it arrived (for example, 2d).
- An unread dot—a small colored dot beside the title—on notifications you haven’t read yet. Unread rows also appear highlighted.
- A company label above the title (for example, WOTTER POOLS), color-coded so you can tell at a glance which company a notification belongs to.
The ••• button at the right of each row opens that notification’s action menu (see 9.4).
Note: The company label appears only when your login belongs to more than one company. If you belong to a single company, notifications show on their own with no company label—there’s nothing to disambiguate. In the example above, the label reads WOTTER POOLS because this user has access to several companies; you can narrow the list to one company using the sort panel’s company selector (see 9.7).
Notification icons
Every notification carries a colored icon so you can recognize the type before reading a word. The colors group related events together:
- Service Routes (blue refresh icon) — route assignments, route visit activity, and Route Stop Missed.
- Jobs (orange briefcase) — job assignments, approvals, job visit activity, and Job Stop Missed.
- Clients (green people icon) — clients added, updated, or deleted.
- Client Submitted Work Request (orange-red work-alert icon) — a client asked for work from the Client Portal.
- Client Submits A Review (green feedback icon) — a client rated a visit, job, or invoice.
- Shopping Items (teal cart) — shopping items added, assigned, changed, or not installed.
- Equipment & Extra Items (blue wrench) — equipment and extra-item activity.
- Control Center (purple) — readings, dosages, visit-duration, location, low-inventory, and media-count rules. The icon shifts to match the rule type: a gauge for readings, a flask for dosages, a stopwatch for visit length, a map pin for location, a box for low inventory, and an image icon for media.
- General (orange-red disc with a picture icon) — technician “on my way” messages, office notifications, attention items, and failed auto-payments each have their own picture.
- System Broadcast (the PSS logo on a white disc) — a message from the PSS team, shown with a PSS: prefix on its title.
Note: The icon and its color come from the kind of event, not from who it’s about. This is the same color system used on the bell drop-down, so a notification looks the same wherever you see it.
